Wonthaggi Medical Group is a well equipped and friendly medical practice that aims to provide all your General Practice needs.  It meets the highest standards of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP) and is accredited by Australian General Practice Accreditation (AGPAL). AGPAL regularly monitor and assessed the practice for quality of service and to ensure that our doctors continually update their skills and knowledge.

Our General Practitioners are experienced, multi-skilled and offer a range of services expected from a quality rural practice.  These include chronic disease management programs, preventative health programs,  after hours care, in-patient care at the local hospital, obstetrics, travel advice and many other services (see ‘Wonthaggi Medical Group Services”). 

Wonthaggi Medical Group is an accredited training practice for getGP and the Australian College of Remote and Rural Medicine (ACRRM) and fully supports registrar and Intern training in the area.  The group also provides training to students from the Monash and Melbourne Universities’ clinical schools and regularly hosts John Flynn Scholarship students from Inter-State.

Recent News

Dr Stanley Rajasooriar left the practice in February for twelve months to undertake further advanced rural skills training.  He will return in February 2011.  Dr Elaine Tho also left in February to undertake a further GP- training placement at Lakes Entrance.
Dr Sharon Lim will be continuing at the practice for a further six months and we are pleased to welcome back Dr Desmond Yeow.  Another GP-registrar Dr Wei Hong join the practice in February 2010 for a period of six months.  In the near future Dr Sandra Lopez will join us permanently from Wonthaggi Hospital Emergency Department
