getGP have instituted a progressive network initiative that aims to assist Practices within its Training Program deliver the most coordinated care possible to their patients and to provide services for involving the community at large in the delivery of medical care.

The Wonthaggi Medical Group fully embraces the getGP Initiative and hosts training doctors under this scheme each year. The getGP Initiative enables doctors in training to work and experience general practice in regional and rural areas where the need for GP’s is most acute. We are proud of our participation in this scheme and the Prevocational General Practice Placement Program (PGPPP). Our practice also hosts and trains students from Monash and Melbourne Universities.
