Scheduled Appointments
All consultations are by appointment.  A standard appointment is 10 to 15 mins.

Please request a longer appointment if you have multiple or complex medical issues. This reduces delays for all patients.  Patients with multiple issues and a standard appointment may be requested to make an additional appointment at a later date.

All patients, except visitors on a short stay, attending the practice for the first time require a double appointment

Doctor of Choice
Every effort is made to provide an appointment with the doctor of your choice; however, for urgent matters this may not be possible.
Tests Results & Prescriptions
An appointment is necessary for all prescription requests or to discuss test results.  If the doctor wishes to discuss test results urgently you will be contacted by a member of our staff.
Contact Details
Our staff will regularly request confirmation of your contact details and Medicare card details.  It is very important (e.g test results, recalls etc) that patients advise the clinic of any change in contact details.  This can be done by phone, by letter, in person or by email (see contacts page).  The practice will make every effort to contact patients regarding important or urgent results, however, if the patient has not informed the practice of their present contact details we cannot guarantee that the patient will be contacted in the event that a serious medical situation arises.
Patient Ethnicity
The new standards of General Practice require each practice to identify on its medical records those patients who self identify as indigenous Australians.  To meet these standards our receptionists will ask new patients if they identify themselves as indigenous Australians.
Recalls
The practice has a policy for recalling patients where medically appropriate. If the doctor considers this is indicated for you it will be discussed with you.
Referral
All referrals require a consultation and will not be backdated. It is important that once a referral is made that the patient makes the appropriate arrangements to see the specialist or health provider to whom they have been referred.   Note that before attending a referred service the patient should call the specialist or other provider to ask their costs and any out of pocket expenses that may be incurred.
Home Visits
Home visits are available for regular patients of this practice who are unable to attend because of serious incapacity. They are confined within a radius of 10kms from the main practice.  Home visits are not provided when requested due to lack of transport or for minor ailments.
Phone Advice
Doctors may be contacted by phone during normal hours.   If the doctor is consulting or is otherwise not available a message will be taken. The doctor will return the call at the end of their consulting session, if consulting, or when next available at the clinic or before if possible.  Emergency calls will be dealt with immediately.
