Dr Tom Solano is a country doctor with extra training in areas of skin cancer and anaesthetics. He has returned to Bass Coast to settle down with his young family and be an active part of the community. Having completed his medical training in 2012, he has worked in varying regional and rural areas and has been involved in expedition and remote medicine. Given his love of the outdoors, he has completed a 2-year master's degree in skin cancer medicine through the University of Queensland in 2021 and is passionate about the prevention, surgical, and non-surgical treatments of skin cancer. Qualifications/special interests: skin cancers, including complex closures and skin grafts/skin flaps. Non-surgical skin cancer treatment modalities. Ingrown toenails. Perioperative medicine [optimising health before or after a big surgery].
