Experienced Doctors Providing Quality Care on the Bass Coast

MyMedicare

MyMedicare is a new, voluntary registration system from the Australian Government that helps strengthen your relationship with your regular GP and general practice. It is free to join.

Why register?

  • Registering for MyMedicare helps your GP provide better continuity of care.
  • Longer Medicare‑funded telehealth appointments with your registered practice.
  • More regular care for people living in residential aged care.

Who can register?

You can register if you have a Medicare card or DVA Veteran Card, and you have visited our practice:

  • At least twice in the past 24 months, or
  • Once if you live in a remote area.

People experiencing hardship (for example, homelessness or family violence) are still able to register even without the usual visit requirements.

Parents can register children, and young people aged 14–17 can register themselves.

Important things to know:

  • It does not store your medical history — that stays in My Health Record if you use it.
  • You can still see other doctors or practices whenever you need to.
  • You can change your registered GP or medical practice anytime.

How to register

You can sign up:

  • Through your Medicare Online Account on myGov
  • Using the Medicare app
  • Or by asking our practice team to help you register
